The Director of Operations will report directly to the Vice President of the Business Unit. The Director of Operations will have overall responsibility for the leadership of approximately 110 production employees currently employed. Manage predicted growth at the site. It is an opportunity for leadership of a successful division that is part of a stable diversified corporation. More specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
§ Exceed customer expectations with regard to delivery and quality of products by leading and interfacing with the key staff members and continuing to develop a cohesive execution team. Current direct staff includes: Material/Purchasing Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Facilities Manager and a Quality Manager.
§ Responsible for performance to budget by monitoring and leading the improvement in component manufacturing utilizing lean and six-sigma initiatives (among others) with the full time black belt resident at the site.
§ Management of Supply Chain initiatives by developing and fostering key vendor relationships.
§ Provide leadership at site as it evolves to a state of the art electronic component manufacturing facility, by benchmarking and networking with electronic industry counterparts.
§ Direct the allocation of resources and activities within the electronic operations to ensure that the needs of development, production and new business pursuits are met.
§ Recommend and implement any necessary hiring or reductions in force.
§ Assist in the career planning of subordinates through performance evaluations, seminar and technical course recommendations, periodic career and task assignment consultations.
§ Provide leadership, direction and authority with regard to all new product development and transitions of products to production within the division.
§ Provide management and expertise to optimize capital expenditures in conjunction with the facilities department.
