Job Description  

The Electronics Operations Manager for the Group will report directly to the  Operations Manager.   The responsibility of this role is to guide and lead the segments of manufacturing that are developing from ground zero, or transitioning to, electrical and electro-mechanical production.  More specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:  



 

§         Interfacing with the site managers to ensure customer expectations with regard to delivery and quality of products are met.

§         Responsible for performance to budget by monitoring and leading the improvement in component and systems manufacturing. 

 

§         Establish oneself as expert for all electronics manufacturing concerns within and other company sites as required.

 

§         Management of Supply Chain, developing and fostering both vendor relationships and those within other sites.

 

§         Interact and assist in efforts to identify and secure new business in the emerging Group electronic product lines, including supporting and evaluating proposals.

 

§         Maintain the electronic operations as a state of the art manufacturing facility, by benchmarking and networking with electronic industry counterparts.

 

§         Establish and facilitate overall goals for the electronics group within  Group.

 

§         Direct the allocation of resources and activities within the electronic operations to ensure that the needs of development, production and new business pursuits are met.

 

§         Provide additional leadership to the site managers with regard to all new product development and transitions of products to production within the electronics sector of manufacturing globally.

 

§         Embrace and guide the electronic operations to continue to utilize and implement lean manufacturing techniques to increase and optimize production efforts.

 

§         Provide site management with the expertise to optimize capital expenditures in conjunction with any new or upgrades to existing electronics production.

 

§         Provide leadership in establishing and maintaining as the center of excellence for electronics assembly and test for the Group.

 

Education
Requirements
 

The successful candidate will be ready to embark on a challenging new assignment.  This position is key within the emerging and growing Electronics Production Operations.   The role will have high visibility and success will open up future opportunities for the valued individual.  Of utmost importance is the leadership this candidate will bring to the electronics group as it emerges from a transition.  Candidates should have the following qualifications:

 



 

§         Strong leadership skills as evidenced by past achievements and promotions.

 

§         Historic achievement in building strong teams and fostering relationships both internal and external. 

 

§         Must be an expert in the production of low volume, high quality electronic components and assemblies. 

 

§         Highly preferable to have an aerospace background.

 

§         Possess a technical degree (prefer BSEE) with an additional fifteen years industry experience.

 

§         Ability to measure and evaluate the status of electronic projects relative to their schedule, cost, technical objectives and conformance to contract requirements.

 

§         Strong background in directing the allocation of resources to ensure that the needs of development, production and new business pursuits are supported.

 

§         Ability and aptitude in strategic business planning.

 

§         Strength in delegating and enlisting the talents of others to help meet objectives.  Even those that are peer level or that are not directly reporting to you.

 

§         Must have experience in managing and fortifying complex supply chains to support highly technical production.

 

§         Experience in the maintenance and development of new customers to assist with new business development activities.

 

§         Prior experience in implementing lean manufacturing initiatives a plus.

 

§         Leadership or management of capital improvement efforts.

 

§         The ability and aspiration to be a key change agent in an organization undergoing a significant transition.
