Job Description  

The Program Manager will report to the General Manager and join the management team consisting of the Engineering Manager, the VP of Operations, and the VP of Sales and Marketing.  Currently the engineering team includes a total of eighteen engineers, technicians and draftsman of a variety of experience levels and backgrounds engaged in designing the products, designing the tooling, developing the processes and supporting prototyping and manufacturing.   This group is energized and growing toward larger and more complex projects.   



 

·         The key responsibility of this position is to be a leader of the Program Management Function. 

 



 

These responsibilities will include:

 

o        Interface and support Sales and Marketing as programs are bid and awarded in the aerospace sector. 

 

o        Assimilate the resulting civil or government contracts into statements of work. 

 

o        Translate the statements of work into deliverables and requirements with the project team leads.  

 

o        Create and status to Project schedules both internally and as the main contact for each of the customers. 

 

o        Support engineering and interfacing with customers on design related and project related issues.

 

o        Oversee and manage the costs of engineering efforts, raw materials and tooling per project per budget.

 

o        Develop and status the technical compliance matrix.

 

o        Assist in the transition of projects from design state to full production (including FAI and ramp up efforts).

 

o        Support proposal efforts as required.

The successful candidate will be ready to embark on a challenging new assignment.  The position is vacant due to growth within the organization.  Success in the role could lead to leadership and business development opportunities.  Candidates should have the following qualifications:

 



 

  • Having attained a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structures is a highly preferred.

     
  • A career span of 10 years or more is needed for success in the role. 

     
  • Background and familiarity with Design a must have.

     
  • Aerospace or Defense essential.

     
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing methods considered a plus.

     
  • Prior project management experience highly regarded.

     
  • Experience in the design and manufacture of composite structures a benefit.

     
  • Interaction with customers considered a plus.
