| Job Title | Global Supplier Engineering Associate | | Job Number | RAF2005 | | Job Location | Connecticut | | Job Description | In general the GSEA (Global Supplier-Engineering Associate) will source, qualify and secure suppliers capable of manufacturing and or supplying parts and components for the production of equipment. The GSEA will create strong partnerships that will allow our Client to meet tactical and strategic initiatives and corporate goals. After an initial period of orientation during the first 30 to 90 days more specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: * Travel globally to perform business and capability studies with suppliers. * Guide the development of supplier certification process to ensure alignment with our Client's manufacturing specifications. * Play a key role in the outsourcing of contract manufacturing. * Be responsible for successful transition of parts requirements to new and existing supplier manufacturing facilities. * Interface with engineering, manufacturing and production to ensure usage of approved components or alternative components, less costly manufacturing methods and required engineering changes. * Develop and adhere to current metrics to monitor supplier sites, project status and cost goals, while ensuring on time delivery. * Develop and implement effective procurement strategies for optimal cost, quality and on time delivery. * Work effectively across all disciplines and departments of the organization. * Play a key role in contract development and contract negotiations providing accurate information. * Manage manufacturing projects on a detailed level, ensuring current engineering revisions are adhered to and MRP documentation is accurate. * Strive to establish lasting partnerships so as to develop a more permanent, reliable supplier base.
| Education
Requirements | The Global Supplier-Engineering Associate will possess a Bachelor Degree in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical or industrial engineering. A minimum of one to three years experience is preferred. General background and experience will be with an engineered product. More specific skill and experience will include but not be limited to the following: * Some knowledge of product design preferably with capital equipment or process equipment is highly desirable. * Understands how equipment or product is manufactured so as to be capable of determining if a supplier has the capability to produce the required components. * Knowledge of metal forming, fabrication, assembly, and or precision machining is essential. * Capable of reading and accurately interpreting designs, prints and plans. * POSSESSIVE OF THE ABILTY AND WILLINGNESS TO TRAVEL INTERNATIONALLY. MUST BE A US CITIZEN OR PERMANENT RESIDENT WITH A CURRENT PASSPORT OR THE ABILITY TO ACQUIRE A PASSPORT. * Knowledgeable of manufacturing principals such as flow manufacturing, lean initiatives, continuous improvement or GMP is desired * Must possess competent computer skills with the ability to develop presentations, reports and communicate effectively electronically. * Additional skills with CAD are desirable but not required. * Will be capable of evidencing excellent written communication skills consistent with the requirements of contract and proposal writing. * Must have exceptional verbal communication skills characterized by a sensitivity for different cultures, languages and communication styles. * Will have previous project management experience even if it is limited to personal and or academic experiences. COMPENSATION Depending upon experience. Additional bonus beyond base income is available plus an annual profit sharing opportunity up to 15%. Relocation assistance may be considered. | Company
