Work as part of a manufacturing team to ensure that production goals are met through efficient planning and execution. 2. Responsible for providing the manufacturing operators with all the necessary tooling, fixturing and documentation to build the product in the most efficient manner which includes working with the operators to design new tools and update work instructions. 3. Establish and maintain work instructions for all products, using the Paperless Factory system to create visual aids. 4. Provide labor quotes for new or infrequently built products. 5. Work with Quality Assurance to initiate corrective actions and coordinate rework to ensure a quality product. 6. Support day to day activity within the team, including troubleshooting the product and controlling the production processes. 7. Responsible for the creation of all operating instructions used in the manufacturing group. 8. Interfacing with Design Engineering and Quality Assurance to resolve product and process related problems. 9. May also work with Design Engineering to incorporate new designs into manufacturing. 10. May be asked to investigate and/or recommend new equipment and processes with the goal of reducing cycle time and WIP. 11. Acts as Quality Engineer for the Production team and is responsible for corrective action response and implementation. 12. Ensure production goals are met through efficient planning and execution. 13. Design and implement manufacturing processes with the goal of reducing labor hours, scrap and material cost while increasing quality and throughput. 14. Use Paperless Factory System to create and maintain work instructions and visual aids. 15. Incorporate continuous improvement techniques on the team including: * Point of Use Inventory * Value Stream Mapping * Continuous Flow Manufacturing * 5S and Area Layout 16. Work with Quality Assurance to respond to corrective actions and maintain process control. The PE in this position is a qualified professional with a thorough knowledge of engineering and manufacturing principles. The incumbent must demonstrate creativity and technical leadership. The manufacturing Team Leader provides direction and/or specific assignments, however the incumbent works independently with minimal supervision | Education
Requirements | 4 or more years experience BS in a technical discipline with BSME preferred Knowledge of assembly processes for electrical components, some mechanical components such as actuators, stepper motors Ability to develop tooling such as holding devices for assembly, assembly aids Experience enough to sketch out tooling and turn it over to detail drafter Develop go/no go gages Ability to provide documentation to tooling and processes being developed Knowledgeable of quality assurance techniques/SPC preferred Overall this position is to provide technical support to final product assemble and test. | Company
