Job Description Overall responsibility as a systems engineer will involve leading and participating in virtually all phases of the development process for HUMS (health unit monitoring system) technology. The corporation is applying this technology, which is generally helicopter specific, to other helicopter models and OEMS as well as looking for other applications for the HUMS technology Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Requirements definition and documentation, systems conceptualization and architecture. * System integration of software and hardware. * System test and execution. * Interface with all disciplines in engineering to coordinate the project, define project requirements. * Evaluate, study and break down customer requirements in order to separate them into functional responsibilities needed for each project. * Layout specific manpower plans as needed based on customer requirements. * Compose complete project schedule and milestone reports. * Create project budgets with estimates of time, cost and staffing requirements and maintain focus and tracking of these assets throughout the project. * Task technical team members with appropriate work to complete project. * Report and follow through project development, prototyping and production; acting as needed within the team based on project schedule requirements. * Interface directly with the customer for all technical and project milestones and issues. * Lead design reviews with internal personnel and customer representatives. * Work effectively across departments and within the engineering groups on and off site to ensure project completion. * Mentor more junior team members.  
Education
Requirements
In general this position requires an individual to possess as well as evidence thorough knowledge of detailed design. In addition, the ability to rise above the design and focus on the overall project and integration into aircraft systems will be required. Broad analytical skills and the ability to balance conflicting requirements are essential. Excellent communication skills are a key to success in this position. More specific qualifications include but are not limited to the following:  US Citizenship is a must. A U.S. permanent resident may be considered.  Having achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferably in Mechanical Electrical or Software engineering from a top engineering school.  Possessive of a minimum of eight (8) years professional experience in either design or systems engineering including mechanical, hardware and software elements.  Aerospace or a related background in which high reliability design is essential combined with knowledge of Helicopter rotating parts and drive train is very desirable.  Knowledge of component lifecycles is necessary.  Experience in performing simulations will be a huge plus but is not considered essential for this role. MATLAB a plus.  Demonstrated technical leadership for a complex project.  Some knowledge and experience in software development.  More of a focus on mechanical components but a complete understanding of the total system including electrical and software components and relationship.
