Manage a staff of four home office underwriters. Develop great relationship with VP of Commercial Lines. Handle referrals from all branch offices, will be go-to person. Tactical focus: ie. coastal strategy, reinsurance, construction defects. Analyze claims and underwriting data to find hot spots, and where there may be more opportunity. Oversee underwriting quality, continuous improvement, profitability and growth with the branches. Reach out and visit branches regularly. Will be involved on branch level. Lead training, coaching, and counseling. Assist in new product development along with branch managers. |
Education
Requirements |
Degree required. 10 plus years underwriting and management experience. Must have some insurance designation. ie. CPCU, CIC, ARM. Expertise in manufacturing highly preferred, G/L, products, auto, and comp. Require exceptional people skills. Need a real partner, not someone with command and control mentality. Must be happy and willing to travel to branches. |
